A Psalm of David
62 Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation.
2 He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defense; I shall not be greatly moved.
3 How long will ye imagine mischief against a man? ye shall be slain all of you: as a bowing wall shall ye be, and as a tottering fence.
4 They only consult to cast him down from his excellency: they delight in lies: they bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly.
Selah.
5 My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.
6 He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defense; I shall not be moved.
7 In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.
8 Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us.
Selah.
9 Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie: to be laid in the balance, they are altogether lighter than vanity.
10 Trust not in oppression, and become not vain in robbery: if riches increase, set not your heart upon them.
11 God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God.
12 Also unto thee, O Lord, belongeth mercy: for thou renderest to every man according to his work. (KJV)
Our Father,
You alone are our rock and our salvation, our defense in these chaotic times; we shall not be moved or shaken. From your Holy Spirit our souls wait in silence for direction; from your Son comes our salvation. In your presence rests all of our hope and glory.
The evil one tries to take us down and destroy our families, but we trust in you at all times and we give you all of our hearts and love. For our destiny is in your hands, your plans are only for our good, for the real power is yours and you are in control of all creation in time and eternity.
We will seek your face alone and reject the plans of our enemies, the evil one has his plans of ruin and destruction but you are our hope and refuge, our rock and salvation in the midst of sickness, danger, and strife.
We will not put our trust in worldly positions or riches, the acclaim and fame that is so fleeting, the power over others that makes one drunk, and the wealth offered by the world and those who the evil one has control over. By your Spirit and direction we want to become your humble servants.
You alone are our rock and salvation, our defense; we shall not be moved or shaken even though everything that can be shaken is being shaken right now. But your Kingdom cannot be shaken, let your Kingdom come and let your will be done in our midst. Let revival come in the midst of it all.
For you have already spoken and your Son has already risen to save us for all time in this life and the life to come. Our future is sure in you and to you belongs all of our worship and praise, all of our hope and steadfast love, our trust and service.
From you alone we wait in silence for your presence and daily direction.
In Jesus name, Amen.
