Read the Psalm in your favorite version or in the following KJV and then join us in praying below:

58 Do ye indeed speak righteousness, O congregation? do ye judge uprightly, O ye sons of men?

2 Yea, in heart ye work wickedness; ye weigh the violence of your hands in the earth.

3 The wicked are estranged from the womb: they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies.

4 Their poison is like the poison of a serpent: they are like the deaf adder that stoppeth her ear;

5 Which will not hearken to the voice of charmers, charming never so wisely.

6 Break their teeth, O God, in their mouth: break out the great teeth of the young lions, O Lord.

7 Let them melt away as waters which run continually: when he bendeth his bow to shoot his arrows, let them be as cut in pieces.

8 As a snail which melteth, let every one of them pass away: like the untimely birth of a woman, that they may not see the sun.

9 Before your pots can feel the thorns, he shall take them away as with a whirlwind, both living, and in his wrath.

10 The righteous shall rejoice when he seeth the vengeance: he shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked.

11 So that a man shall say, Verily there is a reward for the righteous: verily he is a God that judgeth in the earth.  (KJV)

Our Father,

We who believe in your Word naturally expect that there is some kind of justice and reward in this life for the righteous from you, O God Almighty, who sees all and judges everything that happens on the earth. Yet the wicked seem to multiply and success seems to find them anyway.

The evil one reaches out to so many and seems to reward those who ignore your word and rule over their own lives seeking wealth and power at any cost. But they really are not in charge but are enslaved by the enemy who gives them visions of freedom while he chains them up according to their own pleasures and desires. The evil one has convinced many that there is no God and that this life is all that there is and they have no real expectation or hope for a life to come. He has stolen their hope and purpose in life and has replace it with obsession.

But the righteous really do rejoice in this life and have your Spirit to guide them and give them purpose. And they have hope in the life to come in the name of your Son Jesus.

We pray for those who the evil one and his minions have enslaved even though they come against us and consider us to be ignorant enemies. But the real enemy has deceived them. Let the walls which the evil one has built be melted away so that they can see the truth and the truth can set them free.

Nevertheless, in the meantime protect us from such who our enemy uses to try and bring us down and make our life more difficult. Blunt their arrows, and bring confusion in their camp as they come against us and try to put down your people and church.

Let the truth be known, let the light shine in the darkness, and let the captives be set free. We look for the coming of your Son when every knee shall bow and every tongue will bless his name and your word will be confirmed in every nation and everyone who ever lived will finally know the truth.

But before that day, we are praying for your Kingdom to come down in our midst and prove the truth of your Word through miracles and healing. Let revival come to a people who are now ignoring your Word and calling evil good. Bring blessing and hope instead of judgment to our nation. Let the captives of the evil one be set free to know the truth that will lead them to your Son Jesus and an abundant life in this world and in the eternal one to come.

In Jesus name, Amen.
