A Psalm of David

57 Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in thee: yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast.

2 I will cry unto God most high; unto God that performeth all things for me.

3 He shall send from heaven, and save me from the reproach of him that would swallow me up.

Selah.

God shall send forth his mercy and his truth.

4 My soul is among lions: and I lie even among them that are set on fire, even the sons of men, whose teeth are spears and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword.

5 Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens; let thy glory be above all the earth.

6 They have prepared a net for my steps; my soul is bowed down: they have digged a pit before me, into the midst whereof they are fallen themselves.

Selah.

7 My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise.

8 Awake up, my glory; awake, psaltery and harp: I myself will awake early.

9 I will praise thee, O Lord, among the people: I will sing unto thee among the nations.

10 For thy mercy is great unto the heavens, and thy truth unto the clouds.

11 Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens: let thy glory be above all the earth.

(KJV)

Our Father,
You are exalted, O God, above the heavens, your glory is over all the earth. Be merciful to us, O Lord, be merciful to us. We take refuge in the shadow of your wings, we will take refuge till the storms of destruction pass us by.

Send down from Heaven your hosts to protect us from the evil one and his minions, from his representatives among the people who pursue us and want to destroy our reputations and lives. Who want to still our voice and stop our testimony of your goodness and love.

We dwell in the midst of lions; we lie down among fiery beasts— the children of humanity, whose teeth are like spears and arrows, whose tongues are sharp with words that destroy and bare false witness. Their nets are set and their pit is dug and our destiny seems to be in their hands.

Save us O Lord from such who are clever through the inspiration of the enemy. But you are exalted, O God, above the heavens, your glory is over all the earth. We cry out to you O God Most High, fulfill your purpose in us.

Shine your light into the darkness and let the followers of the evil one fall into their own well crafted pit and be ambushed by their own well sounding words. Let the truth prevail and bring down the the false mountain of evidence that seems so formidable.

For you are exalted, O God, above the heavens, your glory is over all the earth. The enemy cannot stand in your presence and his minions shrink away in the presence of your heavenly hosts. Our enemies will not be able to stand before us when the light of the truth is revealed. Let your light shine into the darkness and let truth be a beacon that cannot be ignored.

We will give thanks to you, O Lord, among all who listen, We will sing praises to you wherever we go, and our testimony will continue to go forth to the nations.

For your steadfast love is greater than the enemy, your faithfulness beyond the clouds and your salvation is forever. The evil one will not prevail. For you are exalted, O God, above the heavens, and your glory is over all the earth.
In Jesus name, Amen.
