Proverbs 3:1-12

3 My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:

2 For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.

3 Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart:

4 So shalt thou find favor and good understanding in the sight of God and man.

5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil.

8 It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.

9 Honor the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:

10 So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.

11 My son, despise not the chastening of the Lord; neither be weary of his correction:

12 For whom the Lord loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth. (KJV)

Our Father,

We thank you Lord for putting your teaching into our hearts through your Holy Spirit. We pray that we would always remember to trust you and your understanding rather than our own. For you have created us and know us better than we even know ourselves.

We seek to honor you in all that we do; for you make straight our paths and protect us from the plans of the evil one. May we always respect and honor you rather than being wise in our own eyes and playing into the hands of our enemy.

Let us always receive your correction and understand that your discipline is a reflection of your love for us and that you want only the best for those who have faith in your Son Jesus.

Continue to guide us in all of your ways so that we may fulfill the destiny you have for us as dear children. So that we might always receive your blessing and find favor and success in your sight and also among our brothers and sisters in Christ.

In Jesus Name, Amen.
