Proverbs 2:1-8

2 My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee;

2 So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding;

3 Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding;

4 If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures;

5 Then shalt thou understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God.

6 For the Lord giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.

7 He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly.

8 He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints. (KJV)

Our Father,

We call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding. Help us O Lord by Your Holy Spirit to turn our hearts toward Your teaching and wisdom.

Help us O Lord to apply Your understanding to our daily lives. You have promised to be a shield for us and to guard us from the evil one who wants to bring us harm and confusion.

Let Your light guide our paths, Your love guard our thinking and mouths, and Your wisdom bring us joy in this life and in the life to come through faith in Your Son Jesus.

Let Your love and wisdom transform us; that we may not be conformed to the thinking of this world but be forever changed for the better by following Your Word and the counsel of Your Holy Spirit every day.

Let us receive our identity through the righteousness and sacrifice of Your Son Jesus. Called to be sons and daughters in Your family, and part of Your Kingdom in this life and forevermore.

In Jesus Name, Amen.
