A Psalm of David

41 Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the Lord will deliver him in time of trouble.

2 The Lord will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth: and thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies.

3 The Lord will strengthen him upon the bed of languishing: thou wilt make all his bed in his sickness.

4 I said, Lord, be merciful unto me: heal my soul; for I have sinned against thee.

5 Mine enemies speak evil of me, When shall he die, and his name perish?

6 And if he come to see me, he speaketh vanity: his heart gathereth iniquity to itself; when he goeth abroad, he telleth it.

7 All that hate me whisper together against me: against me do they devise my hurt.

8 An evil disease, say they, cleaveth fast unto him: and now that he lieth he shall rise up no more.

9 Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me.

10 But thou, O Lord, be merciful unto me, and raise me up, that I may requite them.

11 By this I know that thou favorest me, because mine enemy doth not triumph over me.

12 And as for me, thou upholdest me in mine integrity, and settest me before thy face for ever.

13 Blessed be the Lord God of Israel from everlasting, and to everlasting. Amen, and Amen.  (KJV)

Our Father,

Thanks for setting us in your presence forever through faith in your Son Jesus and for the Holy Spirit who comforts us daily when we are weak and the enemy gloats over our condition. You continue to sustain us with hope and with promises of deliverance while the enemy and his minions try to fill us with doubt and insist that you have abandoned us.

When we are sick or in an emotional mess and agony our friends visit us and do not know what to say. But you have sent your servants and intercessors to us and their counsel and prayers have lifted us up and we can see a glimpse of your Kingdom and we are filled with joy even when we cannot lift up our heads to heaven.

We worship you Lord and ask you to rise us up in strength and joy once more in order to serve you and continue to proclaim your name and Word before an unbelieving world. Let us be a testimony before those who doubt your goodness and mercy in this life. Let your continual healing and miracles in our lives be examples to those who say that your Word and Kingdom have no power in this world.

Rise up O Lord with healing in your wings; by your stripes we continue to be built up and receive good health in our bodies, our minds, and in our spirits. Regardless of the circumstances, we are content to leave our future in your hands in this life and the life to come. Blessed be your name forever and forever.

In Jesus name, Amen.
