A Psalm of David
28 Unto thee will I cry, O Lord my rock; be not silent to me: lest, if thou be silent to me, I become like them that go down into the pit.
2 Hear the voice of my supplications, when I cry unto thee, when I lift up my hands toward thy holy oracle.
3 Draw me not away with the wicked, and with the workers of iniquity, which speak peace to their neighbors, but mischief is in their hearts.
4 Give them according to their deeds, and according to the wickedness of their endeavors: give them after the work of their hands; render to them their desert.
5 Because they regard not the works of the Lord, nor the operation of his hands, he shall destroy them, and not build them up.
6 Blessed be the Lord, because he hath heard the voice of my supplications.
7 The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.
8 The Lord is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed.
9 Save thy people, and bless thine inheritance: feed them also, and lift them up forever. (KJV)
Our Father,
Blessed be your name Lord and blessed be the name of your Son Jesus. You are our strength and our shield and the one our hearts seek and trust. You give strength to all of your people; and mercy to all who believe and call upon your name. Lord continue to bless and save us and by your Holy Spirit lead us like a shepherd daily; and in times of trouble continue to carry us through on the path that you have designed for us in this life and the life to come.
You are our rock and our refuge from the enemy. Please listen to our pleas and save our people and nation once more. Our culture is in the midst of tearing down the foundations of our country that were built upon your Word. So many of our leaders do not regard your Truth and they deny your authority. Now many are calling those things ‘good’ which You have declared as evil; and the things which your Word has condemned as immoral as ‘moral’ and civil rights. We now live in a land which believes in the evil lies of the enemy rather than the truth; and yet many still claim to believe in You while denying your Word.
Withhold your judgment O Lord and let your Spirit hover over this nation once more. Bring revival and healing to this people and a new awakening in our cities.
Let your Word be honored once more among this people from sea to shining sea. Let those who are called by the name of your Son rise up and become a blessing to this nation once more while there is yet day.
Listen to our pleas O Lord our rock, our refuge, and foundation. We will continue to praise your name forever.
In Jesus name, Amen.
