Proverbs 31:1-9

31 The words of king Lemuel, the prophecy that his mother taught him.

2 What, my son? and what, the son of my womb? and what, the son of my vows?

3 Give not thy strength unto women, nor thy ways to that which destroyeth kings.

4 It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine; nor for princes strong drink:

5 Lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the judgment of any of the afflicted.

6 Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts.

7 Let him drink, and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more.

8 Open thy mouth for the dumb in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction.

9 Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy. (KJV)

Our Father,

Counsel us in our relationships that we might always follow your teachings; let us bless those we are close to and treat others according to your Word. You have taught us to love everyone as ourselves and not mistreat anyone, even our enemies but we can only do that with help through your Holy Spirit.

Also, let your Holy Spirit help us to live free from all addictions; let us treat strong drinks according to the wisdom that you have given us in your Word and let us listen to your counsel daily. Let not alcohol or drugs rule over us in the name of the evil one; deliver us from evil and strengthen us to avoid anything that would come between us and following your Son Jesus to the fullest.

Please inspire us Father to speak, act, and defend the rights of all; let us be good examples of your Kingdom bringing help, justice, blessings, and healing  to all we come in contact daily. Let us demonstrate your love which you have so richly given us through our faith in your Son Jesus and by your Holy Spirit; which continues to enrich our lives every day.

Praise your name Father, and thank for your abiding help and love.

In Jesus Name, Amen.
